At last - Trinidad's Carnival is here again

It's called the "Greatest Show on Earth". It's been named the number one Festival in the Caribbean. And well... it's hear. Come February 4th and 5th 2008, Trinidad and Tobago will be transformed into a place of revellry as masqueraders take to the streets to play a mas.

The climax of Trinidad's Carnival lies in these two days, as from months before, momentum builds with many fetes (parties) taking place from as early as the previous December. Carnival isn't the only exciting event that takes place in Trinidad and Tobago, but people certainly do think about it whole year, and you really can't blame them. Carnival is an absolutely euphoric experience.

Like most Trinis, Kerri Tucker, MACO Destinations Magazine's International Sales and Marketing Manager, loves "the infectious excitement surrounding Carnival, the adrenaline, the buzz, the music, and the sense of unity, the whole country coming together to celebrate... chipping (rythmic walk) down the road together on Carnival Tuesday, arms around each other, tired and absolutely happy, salty, covered in glitter, singing along as the sun dipped below the horizon".

If you're in Trinidad for the Carnival, you're in for a treat. If you've never been, make it a new year resolution for 2009. To find out more about Trinidad's Carnival, visit www.gotrinidadandtobago.com.
