Bird of Paradise Villa

Luxury in the details…

The “Bird of Paradise” is a plant with a sculptural flower of vibrant orange/yellows, pinks, reds and violets. There is always something new to be appreciated.

Similarly this gorgeous 4-bedroom villa overlooking Sandy Hill Beach – also known as the “Bird” — blossoms under the attentive and ever-present eye of owner Melody Brooks Dill who has fashioned an east-meets-west oasis in the Caribbean.  She is a traveler and explorer, evident in the villa’s Indochine planters and furniture, and the Asian-styled portico which leads down onto a walkway of kowtowing “Birds”, dipping and swaying in the Anguilla breeze.

It’s all in the details – door pulls fashioned into bronze geckos and mahogany Buddha princes. The entire villa including each of the 4 Master Suites and attendant office/reading room, is filled with personal art and artifacts collected from Indonesia, Africa, and the Mediterranean. The Italians provide the beautifully combed bed linens and delicious Bulgari bath products.

Each guestroom is stand-alone – with its own verandah and spectacular view of the ocean. Every space in the villa is connected to the outdoors, with a generous living room, sun-splashed patio and an outdoor fireplace providing a cozy “relax” just outside a well-equipped kitchen.

An obvious choice for honeymooners (a wedding planner is on staff), this villa is also perfect for groups and corporate retreats. Families too with small children are easily catered for through the villa’s kids’ club expeditions like treasure hunts and fossil collecting.

Everything is anticipated. The “Bird’s” Technological Manager is there upon arrival to ensure you’re plugged into the Villa’s ‘WiFi’.  The Villas’ Chef services is handled by Zoe Hodge whose care is genuine and constant, attending to every detail and always with a ready gift for every visitor. These include the most delicious coconut cookies, simply wrapped and festooned with a red ribbon and a fluttering Bird of Paradise “card”.

In a world of formulaic 5-star, the “Bird” trumps the expected.  Luxury in the Caribbean, the way we imagine.
