Also called, Temenos, (Greek for sanctuary), these 4-suite villas possess that “je ne sais quoi” which makes this collection so distinct.
The driveway is a cathedral arbor, and each villa entrance deceptively unassuming – a portico of the smallest order with a similar-sized lattice door and simple walkway, all white!
From the white walkway, you then move into a cool interior of 16-foot ceilings, and a 30-foot, triple-arched colonnade. Then, 5 stairs down into a smashing living room is an area for conversation, and another for kicking back in front of the plasma television or dialing up tunes on the in-house Bose system.
The color scheme is every version of blue-and-white throughout the villas …striped, curlicue, paisley, toile – all so inviting.
Dining is outside on the terrace – nicely sheltered from the sun, this open-air “room” looks directly onto the Villa’s elegant infinity pool, and then slightly further to the Jacuzzi. The “backyard” view of the villa is a “Santorini” sophisticate, robed in white with glass door crystals adorning. A dramatic contrast to the blue of the infinity pool and the ocean below.
Long Bay assures a refreshing swim along a fantastic coastline and a view that just doesn’t get old. The beach “shack” stocks beverages and goodies so no need to pack anything from the villa. There’s even a hammock for “lolling” under the shade of the palm trees.
The gym and nearby tennis courts offer non-sea activities, and golf, a 15-min drive to Cuisinart’s Greg Norman course.
The list of amenities reads like the Oscar nominees. Plush is all – feather down comforters, pillow-top mattresses, magnificent bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and bathtubs for two in every bathroom. Temenos gets it right… right down to the detail of housekeeping service twice a day – it’s an easy enjoy.
