Spice Island Beach Resort

Great food, great suites, great spa, great beach what else does one need’

Spice Island Beach Resort is glamorous in a very understated way and is Grenada’s only five-star resort, and it is smack on one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular beaches, Grand Anse. Unlike other resorts where beach suites are the premier category, at Spice Island, the pool suites give you the best of both worlds. These suites are a few steps from the beach, each with individual, totally private pools and decks. The Royal Collection Pool Suites also have their own steam saunas and a living room, which opens to the pool area. Pool suites are perfect for those who wish to rid themselves of all tan lines.

The Spice Island beach suites have sliding doors which open directly onto white sands touched by lapping blue waters. Each suite has its own hammock, a necessity for anyone who has a long book to finish. The Saffron one-bedroom beach suites are divine, and are connected to another room if a two-bedroom suite is needed. These suites include full dining and living area, gorgeously furnished with modern colonial pieces and beautiful originals on the wall. The bathrooms are massive with a grand jacuzzi tub and large bottles of Moulton Brown waiting to be lavishly used.

  • Janissa’s Spa is tucked away behind the resort and offers treatments harnessing the restorative powers of the island’s herbs and spices. The fitness center has the latest equipment and will ease any gym buff anxieties.
  • The Nutmeg Pod is the name of the kids’ club and with a full Play Station room and Wii, adults are found lingering a little too long, competing amongst themselves. There is a separate room called the Sleepy Hollow for kids who can’t keep their eyes open, and meals are provided for kids whose parents need to take that extra long break.
