A good Victory ‘lime’

There’s something beguiling about a marina with yachts riding at anchor, dinghies scurrying around, tanned travelers sauntering along the docks.  The Victory Bar and Restaurant at Port Louis Marina, Grenada with its views of the lagoon, careenage and picturesque St Georges,  is a great spot for a “lime” – West Indian speak for “chilling out” – or an unpretentious meal.

Here you will find visiting yachtsmen swapping tales of the sea over a cold beer, Grenadians talking business over lunch or making merry over dinner, families relaxing at one of the outdoors picnic tables while keeping an eye on the kids running around, sports enthusiasts enjoying a beverage or two while catching up on the latest sports news from the wide-screen TV.

Spacious and cool, the Victory Bar and Restaurant has a wide choice of seating areas both in and out doors.

Open for lunch and dinner the menu at Victory reflects its laid-back and casual atmosphere. Selections include pizzas from the wood stone oven, juicy burgers, grilled shrimp, chicken or fish with simple sides, followed by delicious homemade ice cream or frothy shakes and cappuccinos.

Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. and reservations are not usually necessary for lunch or dinner.  The one exception is on a Friday night.  That’s when the crowds pack in for the very popular Texas style slow-smoked BBQ.  Succulent ribs and steaks and mouth-watering fresh fish are served up while the Caribbean rhythms coming from the live band keeps the place jumping and lively until late.

Located between Grand Anse and St Georges, the Victory Bar and Restaurant is easily accessible by land or sea.
