Dolphin Cove Jamaica

It’s the land of Blue Mountains and green bananas, the birthplace of the world’s fastest man and most iconic music legend.

It’s where you can shuffle your feet with sting rays, drum your fingers against the dorsal of a shark and dance with a dolphin.

It’s Dolphin Cove, Jamaica, and it’s a marine park unlike any other in the Caribbean. Dolphin Cove is divided between two awe inspiring locations: Ocho Rios and Negril. With Ocho Rios to the North East, and Negril to the West, like twins the parks are similar yet different, singularly impactful, each packed with activities and their own unique secrets to be discovered.

Dolphin Cove Negril is set on 20 odd acres of wide oceanfront landscape and gives you the opportunity to ride a camel, feel a real sea creature like a starfish, urchin or sea cucumber in the Touch Tank, pet stingrays and admire the infamous Shark Shows. And, of course, you can play, swim or surf with a dolphin.

Yet Dolphin Cove Ocho Rios is by no means the lesser sister. Encircled by 5 acres of lush tropical rain forest, there is just as much terra fauna to stir things up as there is marine life. You can swim with a dolphin or hug a shark, pet and snorkel with barbless stingrays, go out on the water in a glass-bottom kayak or on a boat, feed free flying birds from the palm of your hand in the Bird Aviary and sneak past snakes and iguanas on the Jungle Trail.

But beware…there are pirates roaming freely in the “Little Port Royal” section of the park. Based on the old Jamaican city of Port Royal which was a home base for buccaneers in the 1600s, these friendly pirates offer present day picture ops for the children.

Dolphin Cove has two new adventures to try. Do the Dolphin Trek and descend to the sea floor to interact with the dolphins on their turf. Or take the Wild Fun Jet Tour, a high speed boat ride to Dunn’s River Falls, complete with twists, turns and mega thrills.

For avid marine lovers there’s an old favourite: the chance to play Seakeeper for a day. You can learn the training techniques for sharks, stringrays and dolphins, prep their food and gain an appreciation for the most intelligent animal in the sea.

It’s a truly unique offering from the Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Excursion Operator (World Travel Awards Winner 2012).

At Dolphin Cove you’re bound to take home the experience of a lifetime.
