The Four Seasons Nevis Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course

Golf is defined as a game striking a ball with a club into a hole using a stroke, or successive strokes. The golf course design provides the challenges and the diversions within this game. So why do people really play golf’

Spending the greater part of a day outside in a gorgeous locale to play 18 holes is relaxing and addictive. But make that ‘island golf’, and the experience becomes more memorable.

What better place to unwind than a highly ranked course in the Caribbean’  Snaking its way gently up the slope of Mt. Nevis and back down to the shore, the Four Seasons Nevis fairways offer grand views of the resort and the Caribbean Sea beyond. Add prevailing island tradewinds, and this Robert Trent Jones II designed course guarantees a highly rated golfing experience.

The number one handicap hole is #8. A par 5 shot uphill into the winds coming off Mt. Nevis will challenge the hardy, but once you reach the top, catch your breath and enjoy the view before going on to the vistas of hole #9.

Surrounded by rainforest and the occasional lush villa, the course rises more than 450 feet above sea level to the challenge of hole #15. Don’t be diverted by the dramatic view of sister isle St. Kitts or the mischievous  ‘vervet’ monkeys perched in trees along the fairways. Great concentration is required to make the shot and weave your way back down to the 18th hole, on the seaside.

With seasonal packages, you’ll want to play several rounds during holiday.  The 2011 ‘Grip It and Rip It’ package gives you three rounds for the price of two, with discounted clubs rentals. With that offer, you can find plenty of family or sweetheart time, and still satisfy the urge to roam the greens.
