The Hoffman family has owned the hotel since 2002, and added their tasteful design sensibilities to the décor and gardens. The pool and bar area suggest spending the day with a good book, but for more activity, there is Montpelier’s private Beach Club. A shuttle van drives guests down in the morning, and brings them back as they desire. The beach has six cabanas and a lounging pavilion with bar. Picnic lunches can be prepared and sent down, so moving from pool lounge to ocean lounge is stress-free.
Montpelier’s chefs create five-star menus from breakfast to dinner. House-made chutneys, lemon curd, and fresh breads flow from the kitchen at all hours. Try the coconut buns for breakfast, with grated fresh coconut tucked under yeasty pastry. Fully cooked breakfast and afternoon tea are included in the room rate.
