Oodles of noodles on the boardwalk
Celebrity Chef Bobo Bergstrom is well known on island. He owns one of St. Lucia’s top fine dining restaurants ‘The Edge restaurant and Sushi Bar’ as well as the popular ‘Fire Grill’ in Rodney Bay. His latest venture is the Starfish Deli and Noodle Bar at the Rodney Bay Marina. Nestled between a café and a pizzeria on the waterfront of the Marina, the locale affects the buzz of European sidewalk dining with a decidedly tropical feel. Cool, casual and abuzz with activity, Chef Bobo’s newest offering had become an instant hit. “I always wanted a European style deli. It is a way to provide a good quality, less expensive, local-oriented restaurant that works well in the new economy. We have a three-legged approach: yacht provisioning, a retail deli, and restaurant and noodle bar; none of these would stand alone in this economy.” The deli’s focus is on fresh local fish, homemade preserves and sauces and baked goods, as well as imported delicacies. The open-air deck is perfect for the lighter fare served up by Starfish and for its immensely popular Asia-inspired noodle bar.
Chef Bobo’s is an advocate for local farmers and chefs and has multiple times headed the St Lucia team at the annual Taste of the Caribbean Culinary Championships, winning the Chef of the Year award in 2003.
