Zozo’s Ristorante

There is Italian fine dining, and then there is Zozo’s. This place packs a one-two punch with its top-notch menu and unbeatable sunset view.

Located on the waterfront just outside of Cruz Bay, Zozo’s has remained a mainstay for both tourists and locals during its 12 years in existence. They’ve also attracted their fair share of celebrity clientele, from Brad and Angelina to Jon Stewart to Keanu Reeves. We’re going to go ahead and assume that one of the big draws is Zozo’s ossobucco.

A northern Italian menu is just not complete without ossobucco, but those with a truly discerning palate will no doubt appreciate the time and effort put into Zoz’o’s signature dish. The meat is cooked down for close to six hours, making it fall-off-the-bone tender, and the sauce starts with a stock made from veal bones to really bring out the flavor (ah, we can almost smell the aroma wafting from the kitchen).

The other factor that fills the seats at Zozo’s nightly is the view. Dining here is truly a treat for the senses. Imagine biting into hand-rolled pasta and breathing in the scent of the wine you have chosen from Zozo’s predominantly Italian wine list as you watch the sun set over Pillsbury Sound, bringing the sky alive with fiery colors. Settle in with a decadent dessert and after dinner drinks as the twinkling lights of St. Thomas begin to blink on, and the moon and stars illuminate the night sky.

As if the food and the view aren’t convincing enough, Zozo’s staff is praised nearly as often as its menu, so come prepared to be welcomed into the Zozo’s family.

  • The word is out, and the 12 bar stools in Zozo’s second story Jax Lounge ‘ the best vantage point from which to view the sunset ‘ are highly coveted. Make a reservation and come early.
